Do you know how to style your shelving? There are some rules to shelf styling, like the rule of 3. This built in originally had 4 small shelves, cluttered with books and dark objects from the previous owner. I ditched one shelf and spaced them out. The result? A more modern, less busy look. I have 3 “focal point” items per shelf, except for the bottom shelf, where I have 4 baskets which helps to ground the lower level. (And create some awesome storage solutions.) Symmetry is important too! I have symmetry, but also some varying objects with different heights, patterns and textures. White orchids and boxwoods for feeling of “life” and a touch of pretty! The boxwoods tie the greens together with the chairs and the vases and candles.
